We are all emotional. We are energy, we are spirit!
Just so you know, no one is immune to feeling emotional. When I said YES to something new, to speaking at someone else’s event last weekend, I had a lot of fear come up. It is a normal human experience when we are faced with danger, do new things or when we face uncertainty. There is no clear outcome, or knowing that it will work out ok.
The trick is to find your courage and your confidence, trusting yourself that you will get through it, get it done, survive. There are 2 things that happen here, the physical feelings and the mental chatter that goes on when fear shows up and is not released from the body.
Being aware and conscious of what is happening is the first step. Noticing the feeling, the subtle sensations of emotion in your body and observing your thoughts without falling into them.
Meditation is key to taking back control of your wild feelings and settling the mind. Meditation helps you build your mind muscle, regulate your emotions and allow more flow in your life.
We can become attached to our stories (feelings and thoughts), or avoid them. We avoid by distracting ourselves, by keeping busy or self soothing with screens, drugs, food or alcohol.
Like Eckart Tolle says in all his teachings, bring PRESENCE to calm your energy.
We spend so much of our energy focused outwardly, our inner spirit screams for attention if we don’t give it what it wants. Imagine your energy, your emotions, like a child tugging at your skirt vying for your attention. I encourage you to bring presence to your internal world, by simply being aware of it, it will naturally soften and loosen it’s grip.
Releasing energy from your body with movement is also a powerful way to shift stuck energy. I find dance the greatest way to release stuck shit. 🤣 My body moves how it wants to, freely, no structure, just pure flow. Try putting on your favourite playlist, album, artist or song. Let yourself move to the music.
Talking yourself down off the ledge is what we call mindset work. Having the inner conversation. “I know you are afraid Toni, it’s ok, you know what you are doing, you are not going to die if you get up in front of the group of beautiful souls who have come to listen and learn from you. Share your passion for educating people about emotions and energy, mental health and accepting being human.”
As part of my mindset work I did self hypnosis. I made time to listen to some Hypnosis recordings I had made for others. Listening to your own voice is actually quite fascinating and very soothing.
My message for you today is about how we can love this life, and be present.
Somehow, somewhere along the way over the generations, we have forgotten what it means to be human. What I teach and share is about remembering who we are, accepting ourselves, and how we can evolve to be healthier and happier humans.
If you’ve never tried Reiki energy healing before, I encourage you to try it. My meditation teacher says we should naturally be peaceful, and if we are not, then we have unresolved energy and emotion.
Reiki energy healing is a beautiful, relaxing and centering experience. Come back home into your body and remember you are an energetic and emotional being. A Reiki healing session allows you time and space to connect with your energy, to feel it. To know yourself as an energetic being, what I call a spiritual being.
